Offer spiritual, prayerful and attentive comfort to those undergoing the grieving process.

1. Maintain committee of deacons and parishioners to support the mission, goal and objectives of the ministry.
2. Supply bereavement ministry training.
3. Develop strategies for reaching out to families of the deceased at planned intervals following burial.
4. Promote instructive programs covering end-of-life ethical matters, burial options including cremation, and funeral planning.

1. Meet with families to prepare the wake vigil, funeral liturgy and music, and final committal of the remains.
2. Follow-up phone calls, visits and letters to family as may be desired.
3. Assist in arranging special professional support that may be necessitated by tragic loss.
4. Plan All Souls Day liturgy particularly for the past year’s deceased parishioners.
